    Years 1 & 2 Celebration Morning!!

On Thursday 30th March, 9am – 10am, your PTA will be holding a celebration morning for children in Years 1 and 2 and we’re inviting all parents and carers to come along.

This is your chance to see the piece of work your child is most proud of and to enjoy refreshments and cake together as they delight in telling you all about it

All proceeds raised from the cakes and refreshments go back into our school to support even more “proud” moments. We will also have our pre-loved uniform available, perfect if you need to pick up any spares. And, as always, we have our HUGE selection of books which everyone is free to browse.

All year groups will have the opportunity to attend our celebration mornings throughout the year, please keep an eye out in the newsletter date section for future announcements.

We look forward to seeing our parents and carers of Year 1 and 2 children on Thursday 30th March from 9am.

PS: All children in Years 1 & 2 will get the opportunity to come into the hall and purchase a cake on the day with their class teacher.

  • Red Nose Day - 17th March

    Fri 10 Mar 2023

Reminder: Next Friday 17th March we will be celebrating Red Nose Day with a Non-Uniform Day 'Pick a theme, don the best home-made costume ever, go red from head to toe or simply dig out your brightest socks. Wear something that makes you and your school smile'

Please note: Cricket Sessions will still take place so please bare this in mind - if outfits are extremely fabulous, some children may have to watch the session for health and safety reasons.

We will not be collecting donations in school but if you do wish to donate to the charity, you can do this directly via their website - https://donation.comicrelief.com/

  • 15th & 16th March - Strike Day Closures

    Wed 08 Mar 2023

     8th March 2023

    Dear Families,

You may be aware that the next day of industrial action for National Education Union members is due to take place on 15th & 16th March.

Although we are working hard to minimise the disruption to our children, we will have no alternative but to close NURSERY, RECEPTION and YEAR 5 on both days.

The unions are in talks with Government in an attempt to reach an agreement around improved school funding and pay for teachers. If they make further progress and the industrial action is called off, I will of course let you know.

If your child is in one of the above year groups and is entitled to a free school meal, you will be emailed a FSM voucher via evouchers for the total of £5.00 to cover both days.

Thank you for your ongoing support. I will be in touch should there be a change to the arrangements outlined above.

  • 1st February - Strike Information

    Tue 24 Jan 2023

Dear families, as I mentioned last week the NEU teaching union has balloted their members to strike for the first time in 15 years. We have teachers throughout school who are members of the NEU who are in dispute with the government over pay and school funding. As the CEO of Valour schools I respect colleagues democratic right to strike or not strike ,whilst trying to keep disruption for our pupils and families to a minimum. On Wednesday 1st February the school will be open to all pupils with the exception of Nursery. In my opinion the strikes are not likely to be called off but if they are we will let Nursery parents know immediately.

    Kindest regards

    Dame Nicola Stephenson DBE

    Mon 23 Jan 2023

On Tuesday 7th March 2023, Julian from GEM education will be holding an online safety workshop in our school hall 2-3pm.

'The workshop will cover the online risks and dangers that all parents should be aware of and support them in protecting their children from these, allowing parents to help their children's awareness to know what to do if they feel uncomfortable about anything they encounter whilst on the internet.'
