  • 2nd May & 27th April - Strike

    Tue 25 Apr 2023

    25th April 2023

    Dear Families,
You may be aware that the next days of industrial action for National Education Union members are due to take place on Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May.

Although we are working hard to minimise the disruption to our children, we will have no alternative but to close –

    27th April - NURSERY and YEAR 5

    2nd May – NURSERY only

The unions are in talks with Government in an attempt to reach an agreement around improved school funding and pay for teachers. If they make further progress and the industrial action is called off, I will of course let you know.

If your child is in one of the above year groups and is entitled to a free school meal, you will be emailed a FSM voucher via evouchers for the total of £2.50 per each day.

Thank you for your ongoing support. I will be in touch should there be a change to the arrangements outlined above.

  • Coronation Celebration

    Thu 20 Apr 2023

On Friday, 5th May we will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles with a garden party, games and competitions for our children. Please see the attached details!

  • Change of End of Day Process

    Wed 19 Apr 2023

At the end of the day, you will notice that the barriers have been removed in the playground to give our children more space to play.

To ensure the safety of our children at the end of the day, please leave a large gap between yourselves and the classes so that teachers can see clearly when they are handing your children back to you. You will notice a line marked across the playground which we kindly ask that you do not cross.

As always, if you need to speak to a member of staff, we ask that you phone or use dojo to make contact. If you need to speak to a member of staff urgently at the end of the day, please wait until the teacher has dismissed all of their children before you approach them.

Thank you for your support with this change.

    Best wishes,

    Mrs Sample

They have also entered a competition run by Dobbies Garden Centre in Ponteland who are running a competition to provide a community project with gardening supplies. Can you help them by voting for our school to win supplies? Follow this link and then choose the store “Ponteland” and then choose “Walbottle”. No personal details are collected or shared.
