  • Year 6 - Class of 2023

    Mon 09 Oct 2023

We would like to take an opportunity to reflect on the exceptional achievements of our class of 2023 Year 6 pupils.
At the end of KS2, the children in Year 6 sit SATs exams. Our pupils worked exceptionally hard over the course of their time at Walbottle Village and in their final year of primary school to achieve wonderful results which we are so proud of!
End of KS2 results are as follows:
 Reading- 83% reached the expected standard or above (29% reached the greater depth standard).
 Writing- 83% reached the expected standard or above (29% reached the greater depth standard)
 Maths- 88% reached the expected standard or above (33% reached the greater depth standard)
 Grammar, punctuation and spelling- 88% reached the expected standard or above (50% reached the greater depth standard)
 71% of the cohort reached the expected standard or above in reading, writing and maths combined.
Our results sit higher than the national figures for children reaching the expected standard or above in all areas. The national figures are as follows:
     Reading- 73%
     Writing- 71%
     Maths- 73%
     Grammar- 72%
 Reading, writing and maths combined- 59% (For Newcastle schools 49%).
In addition to the children’s incredible academic achievements, we are so proud to have watched them grow and flourish over the course of their time at Walbottle Village. We hope the children can continue to have the same success in secondary school and wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavours.
We certainly miss them and have been delighted to see some of our children who have popped in to visit us since September.
Well done class of 2023- we are so proud!!

  • Halloween Workshop

    Tue 03 Oct 2023

We have had an amazing response to the one off 'Halloween Crafts Workshop'. I will be letting you know if your child has a place on the workshop advertised for Friday 20th October. These places were allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Due to demand, I have decided to hold 2 more sessions so that all children who replied by today have the opportunity to come to the craft workshop. I will be letting you know if your child has been allocated a place on one of the 2 new dates.

If your child is unable to attend the extra sessions, please let school know.

If you haven't yet paid the £1 for the session, please send it into school before the 19th October.

Thank you for all of your support,

    Mrs Sample

  • Flu Immunisation

    Mon 11 Sep 2023

Your child’s annual flu vaccination is due soon.

This vaccination programme is in place to help protect your child against flu. The vaccine will help prevent them catching the flu. Vaccinating your child will also help protect vulnerable friends and family by reducing the spread of flu.

The intra-nasal flu vaccine is the most effective protection for your child against flu.
The online consent can be accessed via any online device. Please click on the following link https://www.northumbriaimmunisations.co.uk/Forms/Flu which will direct you to an online consent form for you to complete using the following school code NB144559

If you have any queries regarding the online consent form or the Flu vaccine please contact the Northumbria Healthcare School Aged Immunisation Service.
