Ensuring all children feel happy, safe and loved

Year 6

Year 6 SATs - IMPORTANT!

As you are aware, Year 6 will sit their SATs in May. In order to understand the expectations of these and how you can further support your child in their tests, please see the powerpoint below alongside helpful resources and free websites your children can access.

During SAT week (12th - 15th), your child is welcome to attend our SAT breakfast across the four days. It's a lovely way to start the day with their friends, enjoying breakfast, getting rid of any nerves. Your child can come to school for 8:15am and join us in the Year 6 classroom. If your child is not attending the breakfast, please ensure that they are in every day and on time for school for a prompt start.

Many thanks,

Miss McDowell

Maths with a mouse

https://www.mathswithamouse.co.uk/satsy-mcsatsface-revision

This website is a fantastic tool to further prepare your children for their maths SATs. It contains a range of key mathematical areas, which your child can explore in order to practise specific skills by completing a game or activity. The arithmetic papers are particularly beneficial.

Topmarks

Topmarks is a great tool, especially for practising your times tables - a key skill to be successful in your SATs. We often use 'Daily 10,' 'Hit the button' and the 'Bowling game.'

Similarly, https://www.timestables.co.uk/ allows your children to test themselves under timed conditions.
