We’re a small group of parents who volunteer our time to help support Walbottle Village with various activities throughout the year, helping to organise activities and fundraising ideas to raise money for resources, fun surprises, supporting the cost of school trips and outings, and so much more.
As parents with children across all years at Walbottle, we all bring something different, making the PTA experienced, knowledgeable, capable, and all-round great.
Whether we’re writing communications for the school website, promoting our raffles through Facebook, organising costume swaps for World Book Day, or helping out on Sports Days and tying flags around the school yard for the Queens Jubilee celebrations – there is always someone available to help, organise, and ensure every event is a great success.
As a PTA, we aim to:
We meet regularly to discuss our plans for the term, upcoming fundraising opportunities and events, and how money should be spent.
Over the years, the PTA has:
We always have a packed calendar of events and activities coming up; please make sure to keep an eye on Facebook and our PTA web page for the most up-to-date information.
What we have coming up:
Halloween swap shop coffee morning – if you have any Halloween costumes that your kids have outgrown, why not come and swap them for a bigger size at our Halloween swap shop – AND grab a cuppa and a biscuit at the same time? The PTA will be hosting a coffee morning on Thursday 20th October at 9.15am where parents are free to come into the hall and browse the Halloween costumes and uniform we have on offer while also grabbing a cuppa and a biscuit for a small cost. All money raised from the sale of tea and biscuits goes directly back into the school, and all uniform and Halloween costumes are free to take away.
Christmas fayre/bottle draw/raffle – your PTA is working hard behind the scenes to nab those all-important super exciting raffle prizes. With some great prizes available, watch out for dates on when tickets go on sale and when we will be hosting the extremely popular bottle draw, along with other great surprises.
Save your crisp packets – we will once again be supporting the Iron Man with the collection of crisp packets. A crisp collection box will be in the school hall for children to pop their crisp packets into, and this year we will be looking to make some survival blankets in school before sending these off to a great charity.
If you have any exciting ideas or would like to be a part of the PTA, please email admin@walbottlevillage.newcastle.sch.uk – we’d love to have you on board!
Alternatively, you can catch any member of the PTA at school to find out our next meeting dates and how you can get involved; we’d be happy to chat.
Thanks
Your PTA
