Good Morning Reception!

I have added a couple more activities to the bottom of yesterdays activities for you to do at home.

Literacy - You can either complete one or two more of the writing frames I added yesterday or choose a couple of activities from the home learning challenges. I have added some for reading and writing.

Maths - You can access the Whiterose Maths videos through the link I provided yesterday and watch the next video and try the linked activity.

I have also added some home learning space themed activities that you can choose from.

Take care,
Miss Wilmshurst :)

Hello Reception!

Since you'll be at home, I have added some activities for you to be getting on with.

Literacy - I have added a selection of writing activities for you to choose from, some of you started to do these with me yesterday and really enjoyed them. You could pick one or two to do today.

Maths - I have attached a link below so you can watch some Maths lessons online. We did the first lesson yesterday so you could start with lesson 2 today. There is an activity for each lesson too that you could do too.

PE - Today would usually be our PE day so I have popped some links below to Yoga and Jump Start Jonny. However, if the weather perks up you could do some excercise in your garden.

Art - You have enjoyed exploring Dinosaurs this week, why not create your own model of a dinosaur out of recycling materials? Draw/Paint your own picture of a dinosaur or create a dinsoaur mask.

Remember, a big part of Early Years is learning through play and learning skills through your environment so you could play some games with a grown up or help them to do some jobs around the house.

See you soon!
Miss Wilmshurst :)

Hello Reception!

I have attached an activity booklet for you today. This will give you a chance to practise some of your skills-just choose what you'd like to do and remember it's fine for you to enjoy your own activities at home too. Share a story with your grown up- maybe you could play a board game!

Have a lovely weekend!

We are really looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Mrs Grey :)

Hello Reception!

Since you are going to be at home with your families this week, here are a few things to keep you busy for now (click on links below). We have been learning the story of 'Whatever Next' and focusing our learning around a space theme. I have included the 'Planets Song' for you all to watch and learn about the solar system; also included is something I know you love:  'Yoga'.

Remember everything you do at home is a learning experience, so make sure you're  doing little jobs for your grown-ups such as: helping to set the table, sort the laundry and preparing lunch. Enjoy lots of stories and reading activities and practise writing your name each day.

I will be adding more resources today and throughout the week, for each day that you're at home.

I will miss you all this week and look forward to us being all back together very soon!

Mrs Grey :)

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Thank you for all your hard work last week, I love seeing the different activities you have been doing.

This week I thought we could try doing some learning together, I have created Literacy and Maths videos for everyday. It was very strange recording myself, hopefully I will get better the more I do it. You will need paper and a pencil for each of our Literacy lessons.

I have attached a guide to Tapestry below so you can see how to upload observations as it has been fantastic to see them and it would be great to see even more of the children and their work.

Keep working hard, you are all amazing!

Hello Reception!

I hope you are all having a lovely week. it is fantastic to see all the amazing work you are doing. I have been busy working with some of the key worker children and recording videos for our learning next week. Next week you will be able to watch some videos of me teaching and you will be able to do some work alongside.

I also wanted to post a reminder that packs are available to collect from school every Friday at 9.45am for all Reception children. If you do not require a pack as you have printing facilities at home can you please let me know via Tapestry.

Remember I love to see all of your work or any lovely activities you are doing at home on Tapestry at the end of each day. When you upload to Tapestry it means I can send you a message back about your work.

I have uploaded a suggested timetable for you to use to help you plan your day. On a school day in Reception we have a mixture of focussed activities and child-initiated play so each activity should only take you around 15-30 minutes. In between these times it is okay to play. However, I know some of you LOVE to do extra work so I will put some extra suggestions on too. If you have any questions I can be contacted via Tapestry. If you are struggling to access Tapestry please email the school office and I will try my best to help.

If you have not collected a paper copy of work we have learned that on-line learning can be accessed by using PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Our class pages (on Tapestry and the school website) can also be reached using any device that has a web browser such as smart phones and PCs.

Keep safe!
Miss Wilmshurst

This week we will be learning the story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. There is one activity to complete everyday. I have uploaded the story for Monday. If you click the speaker in the story of each page you will be able to hear me telling you the story.

You will notice there isn't a document for Thursday. On Thursday I would like to you to try and record yourself retelling the story and upload the video to Tapestry if you can.

This week we are going to be learning about the number '0'. Let's start the week off with a story all about 'Zero the Hero'. If you click the speaker on the corner of each slide you will be able to hear me talking you through the story. There is one activity for you to complete each day. Keep up the great work Reception!

Hello Reception!

We definitely were not expecting not being back to school. We will be doing our learning online for a little while. I will be uploading videos for you to watch and lots of different activities for you to do at home.

We will be working a little differently to the rest of school and offering paper packs to all of Reception as we understand it is a little tricky for you to access the internet without a grown ups help. If you have printing facilities at home and will not be requiring a paper pack please let us know either by emailing school or letting us know on Tapestry. More information on how to collect your pack to follow.

Stay safe!

If you finish all of your work and want to do more I have attached some tasks below. Enjoy :)
At the start of the school year, we usually invite parents of children in Nursery and Reception into school for a phonics workshop. The aim of these workshops is to teach parents about the phonics scheme we use in school so learning can be supported at home.
As we are unable to have parents in school at this time, we have put together some information and online resources in place of the workshop which can be found below.
