It has come to our attention that parking around our school is causing distress to neighbouring residents, particularly those who live in Whitehall Road.

We recognise that parking is an issue that we all face because of two growing primary schools, Walbottle Village and St Cuthbert’s, situated on one road. Pick up is a particularly busy and stressful time resulting in a number of issues being reported to us from nearby residents: blocking driveways, homes and access to the street. Emergency vehicles have been unable to access patients on a number of occasions. In an attempt to resolve these issues, residents have approached Newcastle City Council and Northumbria Police.

May I remind you that as parents of our school that you are invited to use ‘The Percy Inn’s’ carpark in an attempt to resolve this matter? Parents of St Cuthbert’s have also been asked to park elsewhere.

We do hope that you can sympathise with our neighbours and consider alternative parking options available to you. Thank you to those who do this already.
