7th September - Return to School
7th September 2020
7th September 2020
We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow. It has been such a long time since we have seen many of them but I am sure that you have been making the most of your time at home together.
Please can I direct you back to the communication I sent out at the end of term? This is dated 10th July and is available on the school website. You will find all of the information you need here about staggered start times, uniform etc.
You will receive a topic booklet at the end of this term with details of the curriculum as well as your child’s PE day. From week commencing 14th September, we ask that all children come in to school wearing their PE kit on their PE day.
Your child will keep all of their belongings with them so we ask that these are kept to a minimum. As well as their coat, they may bring in a water bottle, packed lunch bag (if they are in KS2 and have packed lunch) and book bag (the smaller the better). All stationery will be provided.
Because we have a new system for drop off and collection, we are looking at ways of reducing congestion in order to adhere to social distancing rules around the school site. If your child is in year 5 or 6 and you are happy for them to travel to and from school alone, please email the school office.
Although this will be a new way of working, staff members will still be available to discuss your child’s individual needs with you and answer any questions you may have. If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office so that they can ask them to contact you. Class teachers will be available at the end of each day to ring and speak with parents. You can also use our class dojo system to communicate.
This week is going to be challenging as we all adjust to the ‘new normal’. Please be patient with us all as we try and test things out. We will be evaluating and making adjustments where necessary and greatly appreciate your support as we work through this first week for the safety of your child/ren and the staff in school.
We know that you may have unanswered questions and concerns. If after reading back over the information sent out at the end of term and this letter you have any queries, please email the school office and Miss Hughes will get in touch over the course of the next couple of days. If you need to speak with someone before your child returns tomorrow, please ring the office today or tomorrow morning.
