02/06 - Year 6 Update
2nd June 2020
Dear Year 6 Parent,
We are thrilled to be in a position to welcome our wonderful year 6 pupils back into school from next Monday 8th June. We have all missed them so much and cannot wait to be reunited as they near the end of their primary journey.
The class will be split into 3 groups. Each group will be taught by one staff member Mon-Fri and another Thurs-Fri. The children and adults in each ‘bubble’ will remain the same for the rest of term.
We will bring the children in gradually:-
Group A – Monday 8th (full time from this date)
Group B – Tuesday 9th (full time from this date)
Group C – Wednesday 10th (full time from this date)
The school day will run from 9.15-3.15pm. This will allow us to stagger the start time with the key worker group. Bringing the children in over 3 days will allow us to best support transition back into school and share new rules/routines with your child.
The gate will only be opened immediately before this time and closed soon after so it is important that all children are punctual. There is a designated parent area at the top of the yard for drop off and pick up and staff members will be on hand to direct you.
If your child has been attending already because you are a key worker, they will join their year 6 group from next week on their allocated first day.
Please make sure that your child only brings essential items into school with them (for example their packed lunch/sun cream). Children are not permitted to bring in their own pencil cases and we would ask that they don’t bring a bag if at all possible as all personal items will have to be stored at their work station.
You will receive a text message tomorrow letting you know which group your child is in. This cannot be changed unfortunately. If you do not receive a message, please contact the school office on Thursday 4th June to ensure we have an up to date number for you.
On reading this, can you please let us know (via email or telephone) if you intend to send your child back to school next week or continue with home schooling in order that we can plan for school meals and resourcing home learning.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Mrs. A. Oliver
Please note:The school yard is not accessible until 9am for children and it is non-uniform until September. Thank You.
