Nursery

WELCOME!

A big hello from Miss Metcalf and everyone in Nursery!
Come and read about the fabulous fun we have in Early Years.

Autumn Term is a very exciting part of the year for us all in Nursery. We get to know new faces, we make new friends and we learn lots of new things!

We are learning all about 'Ourselves' so come and learn more about what we have been up to!

We love to sing in Nursery so to celebrate the Harvest Festival we performed some of our favourite songs to our families and friends. During our free play we love to sing 'I'm a Little Pumpkin', 'Five Little Leaves' and Dingle Dangle Scarecrow'.
The Halloween Disco was a fang-tastic afternoon of spooky fun!!
After munching on zombie fingers and dragon blood (hotdogs and ketchup) Count Dracula arrived to play lots of terror-ific tunes at the SPOOKTACULAR disco. We had lots of fun playing ghoulish games and winning prizes!
We've been learning how to continue a sequence!
Look at the towers we've been building ...
S'more Please
Nursery children loved making sticky treats this week!
To celebrate Bonfire Night we made s'mores, a traditional nighttime treat!
It turned out to be a very gooey science experiment as the children explored how long marshmallows needed to be heated up to puff up and soften.
Check out the great fun they had ...

WORLD NURSERY RHYME CHALLENGE 2016

Monday 7th November

Doctor Foster

We began our World Nursery Rhyme Challenge by learning the lyrics to Doctor Foster. We talked about lots of different ways Doctor Foster could end up in the giant puddle. Some of our ideas were jump, hop, fall, spin and dive. We had fantastic fun singing the new versions of Doctor Foster song with great actions.
Outside, in the very appropriate rainy weather, we searched for different sized puddles whilst singing Doctor Foster. We had lots of muddy-puddle fun!!!
